Holistic development of children has been a prime focus for Bhumi's education program.
In 2021 amidst the ongoing pandemic, we organized the online edition called Nakshatra Online. A total of 1,257 children across 157 shelter Homes across India participated.
Key Events and Highlights:
Comic Strip: Children formed teams of 5 and drew a comic book strip of a superhero with an assigned moral value. They created their own stories with a superhero character. The story portrayed its powers and had dialogues with comedy and suspense.
Fancy Dress Competition: Children had to present themselves as a character on a given topic. They had to create the dress from waste products like newspapers, bottles, used pens, etc. This introduced them to recycling and reusing.
Many other workshops happened in online mode to help them learn while having fun. Self Défense, Oral Health, Public Speaking & Communication Skills topped the charts. Online sessions on body posture & confidence also made it to the list. There was a Mime Workshop for children to experience expressions in silence.
The event was dotted with fun activities like Spell Bee, Elocution with a twist, jewelry making, etc.
There was a Sudoku session too organized in collaboration with Logic Masters India. A singing event called "Voice of Nakshatra" saw many musical celebrities joining to encourage the children.
The children and the volunteers felt refreshed from their usual routine. Nakshatra Online helped them stay connected while having fun together.
