Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (BGCPR) provides a safe place for children and youth living in poverty to develop to their full potential. With 12 Clubs across the island, BGCPR impacts more than 15,000 participants a year and offers after-school programs to children and youth ages 6 to 18. Services include educational enrichment, snacks and food for a positive youth development.
With a persistent child poverty rate of 58%, Puerto Rico is home to hundreds of vulnerable communities. Children living in poor communities often lack access to high-quality basic services such as education and nutrition. The lack of nutritious food hinders child development and for many children, it could be at the root of poor academic performance.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico has embarked on a quest to eradicate child poverty in Puerto Rico. Your donation will ensure that our participants receive both high-quality educational services and nutritious hot meals with the ultimate goal of improving their wellbeing and their chances of breaking out of poverty.
Our dream for each one of the children that participate in our programs is that they become responsible self-sufficient citizens who make a positive contribution to their communities and to Puerto Rico.
