BEYOND 25 - Powering a Tech Movement for Change!

Project Overview

Beyond25! marks a transformative milestone for NairoBits Trust as we celebrate 25+ years of empowering youth through technology education. This multi-channel fundraising campaign aims to secure USD 150,000 to offset operational debt, fund 6 months of core operations, and invest in critical infrastructure and classroom upgrades.

The Challenge We're Addressing

Youth from underserved communities in Nairobi face significant barriers to quality tech education and employability. Without access to digital skills training, industry mentorship, and modern equipment, talented young people remain locked out of Kenya's growing digital economy.

Our Solution: The InnTech Program

NairoBits provides hands-on digital skills training, industry mentorship, and direct pathways to employment and entrepreneurship through our flagship InnTech program. With 25 years of proven impact, we've created a robust ecosystem connecting students, alumni, and employer partners.

How Donations Create Change

Your contributions flow through our proven theory of change:

  • Inputs → Donations fund equipment, training materials, and operational costs
  • Activities → Students receive technical training, mentorship, and career guidance
  • Outputs → 200+ youth trained annually; devices deployed; internship matches facilitated
  • Outcomes → Graduates secure employment, launch businesses, and become community leaders
  • Impact → We're building an inclusive digital economy, one student at a time

Campaign Strategy

We're running two complementary sub-campaigns:

  1. "25 for 25" - Alumni-led micro-giving campaign encouraging contributions starting at KES 250, to engage 3,000 donors
  2. "Fund a Dream" - Corporate sponsorship bundles ranging from Bronze (KES 250k) to Platinum (KES 2m+), offering device donations, classroom refurbishment, and branding opportunities

Use of Funds

Every shilling is strategically allocated:

  • 30% - Core operations (rent, utilities, program delivery)
  • 25% - Debt offset (structured repayment)
  • 30% - Infrastructure & classroom refresh (furniture, connectivity, power backup)
  • 15% - Devices (new/refurbished computers, maintenance)

Key Success Metrics

We're tracking impact through:

  • 3,000 total donors engaged
  • 10%+ conversion to monthly recurring donations
  • 1,000+ alumni re-engaged and verified
  • 10 corporate/institutional partnerships secured
  • 4+ major media features

Transparency & Accountability

We promise our donors:

  • Receipts and acknowledgment within 24-48 hours
  • Quarterly impact updates showing exactly how funds are deployed
  • Annual transparency reports
  • Recognition options (with opt-out controls)
  • Weekly public progress updates on campaign milestones

Community Engagement

Beyond25! isn't just about fundraising; it's about reactivating our 25-year alumni network, strengthening partnerships with organizations like Lenovo, SWIFT, Microsoft, and the British Council, and building a sustainable, recurring donor base for long-term impact.

What Makes This Different

  • Grassroots authenticity: Alumni lead the charge, sharing their own transformation stories
  • Cultural relevance: Communications in Sheng/Swahili reach students and parents where they are
  • Multi-platform accessibility: From M-Pesa mobile giving to global platforms like GlobalGiving and Every.org
  • Recognition & stewardship: Donors aren't just funders, they're partners in a movement

Looking Ahead

Beyond25! runs through December 2025, with milestone events including Alumni Open Days, corporate partnership evenings, and a Giving Tuesday push. Every gift, whether KES 250 or KES 2 million, literally powers a student's learning journey and builds Kenya's tech future.

Join the Movement

We're not just celebrating 25 years, we're investing in the next 25. Your support ensures that talented youth from Mathare, Kibera, and beyond can access the digital skills and opportunities that transform lives and communities.
