Yesterday Monday 8th I met with a section of the women in the Tupendane Group in Nguluni. This was a follow up from the viist by Farley Sawyer of Global Giving. The purpose of the meeting was to inspire the group to work more together so as to build momentum in providing help to those members in the group who need help.
Members and or their caregivers fall sick and they need moral support. They need someone to teach them to eat well and the past few weeks have been sad especially seeing one or two members' health not improving due to lack of proper balanced nutrition.
At the meeting it was inspiring to hear members planning their visits to members' homes so as to find practical ways to meet health needs.
It is my hope that we would get a few friends to help us provide the following meals to about 3 members currently who need consistent support with food and nutrition even as we await the sales from the green house which is doing well. In the next three weeks the first harvets will be sold and the monies used to secure a constant supply of healthy vegetable to affected families.
We can do this through obtaining recurrent giving of at least $50 from 10 friends to help provide a balanced diet to 3 families every month. This will provide a daily provision of fruits, vegetables, proteins , carbohydrates and vitamins to 3 families with 5 members who are affected or infetced with HIV. The nutrition will go a long way in helping save a few lives. This will give a rich meal as in picture 3and not waht we are used to seeing and eating as normal meals o in picture 2
Thank you for heeding the call and thank you for the kind hearted support you have continued to give our programs at Acres of Mercy.
Let us join in this one to save lives even if it is one life. This is precious.. .this is what makes you and I everyday heroes to the communities we have come to live in, share with and hope for.
Together let us save lives one meal at a time.
