$100 Donation - Where Most Needed

$100 - Where most needed

Unallocated funds or 'where most needed' funds help to provide for the current needs of the children. Your donation could go towards an urgent medical need, repairs, maintenance or administrative costs.

In July 2012 Beijing experienced some heavy storms and serious flooding, especially in the area where our children live. The floodwaters came right to the steps of the homes for the children but fortunately the water did not go in them. However, there was some damage to roofs and our perimeter wall. Our 'where most needed' fund was used to repair some of this unforseen damage.

Another example of where these funds go to is to emergency medical needs. In the Spring of 2012, one of our children slipped into a coma during the night, and she was rushed to hospital. We did not know if she would wake up but due to the generosity of our supporters we were able to pay hospital bills to keep her in hospital for some time. Miraculously she woke up and she is now progressing well. Donors who give unallocated funds give us the flexibility to use them in medical emergencies.

Often, the 'where most needed' fund will go towards the unglamorous costs of running a charitable organisation. Auditing, monitoring and evaluation and printing costs are underfunded but are extremely important. Bethel desires to run as an efficient organisation so that we can better use our resources to impact the lives of the children in our care.

Thank you for your support for Bethel's blind orphans through Global Giving!
