What are Children's Chairs?

Our program is called "Provide beds for 300 kids sleeping on the floor'. But we do more than that.

In 2022 alone we helped 2,189 children get off the floor. These are kids who are coming out of all kinds of adversity and into housing. They might be refugees, from other countries. They might have been homeless or fled a domestic violence situation. Hailey's story is not unusual. She said:

“I used to sleep in my car, but now I sleep in a bunk bed.  I’m on top!”

Beds (mattresses) are our number one item that people need. So why are we writing about chairs?

Since 2017 we have asked local artists to participate in our Children's Chairs Program. They take a (usually) small chair and use their talents and time to transform it into a custom furniture piece for our smallest furniture bank clients. These kids have often lost everything, or in some cases have never had something like this that is ‘just theirs’ that THEY picked out. The pride and delight in their faces as they sit in their new chair is so moving.

So know that your gift is helping us provide beds AND MORE to these kids. Thank you for your support.
