The Sega Girls School celebrated its first graduation in December!
Attended by board members and supporters from the U.S., the ceremony was both joyful and very meaningful, reflecting on the achievement of the 27 Form 4 girls who were graduating. There wasn't a dry eye in the house!
Depending on their exam results, our graduating students will continue to A level courses that lead on to university, go to vocational training schools, including nursing and teaching, or go out into the work force. Our career counselor is working with the students to help them decide the next step.
Thanks to your generosity, these students, who had dropped out of school due to extreme poverty, have been given a quality education and the chance of a better life.
In the meantime, one of the dorms that you have helped to furnish is being prepared for the next class of students that will be arriving at the Sega Girls School at the start of the next school year in January.
