The dorm construction is complete!

By Nikki Shearman | Executive Director

Construction of our final two dorms is complete

Construction of the two final dormitories on the Sega Girls School campus is complete - and they are beautiful! They have been furnished with beds and cabinets with funds raised in this campaign.

Thank you for your gift that has helped us provide a safe living space for the next class of Sega Students!

We are still raising funds for the mattresses, sheets and blankets, and mosquito nets to make the dorms ready for the next group of vulnerable Tanzanian girls.

In the meantime, our first class of Sega students is working hard preparing for the rigorous national Form 4 examinations, and will then graduate on December 7th.

While the students wait for their exam results, they will take a 3-month post-graduation program encompassing intensive English and IT training, and an Entrepreneurship class in which the students prepare their own business plans for starting a small business.

Our career counselor, Amina, is working with these girls to help them determine the next steps; Some may choose to continue with A level courses leading to college, while others may go in the direction of vocational training or immediate employment.

We are excited to see the amazing things this first class is going to do with their education and skills!
