Dear Sponsors,
Following the farewell to his brother Dumas, we are happy to share that Telo has gently found his rhythm again. It took time, as grief does, but Telo has shown us once more the strength and beauty of his spirit.
Without his brother, Telo has become more present and expressive in his own unique way. He now fully embraces his role as the king of his territory, watching over his space with quiet confidence. Every evening, just before the sun slips behind the trees, he offers his deep, echoing roar—his voice resonating across the bushveld. It’s as if he’s letting the world know: “I am here, and I am well.”
A fun fact you may not know: during the South African winter, lions like Telo tend to be more active during the day as the cooler temperatures make it more comfortable to move about. It’s the perfect season to hear his powerful roars carrying through the crisp bush air!
His presence continues to bring us so much joy and peace. Whether it’s the way he responds to Michele’s morning greetings or how he lounges proudly in the shade, Telo reminds us of the importance of every life we care for.
Thanks to your kindness, Telo’s days are filled with comfort, love, and dignity. He remains a true ambassador for his species, touching the hearts of every child, volunteer, and visitor who meets him.
With heartfelt appreciation,
The DAKTARI Team
