So far the project with street children has been progressing nicely. The updated information of various activities of this program are as below:
- Morning breakfast: About 75 children (and a few poor elderly people) took morning breakfast throughout the year. On average presence of these street children is about 45 per day. 13,245 breakfast were served from January to October 2018.
- Medical treatment: A total of 4 children were provided with medical treatment support; two of them for dog bite and two for cold and fever.
- The school program: continues on Fridays and Saturdays after the breakfast. 25 children usually attend the morning classes for an hour or two each time.
- Excursion (daylong tour): On 3rd November, 59 street children and 7 voluntary workers visited Panam city and museum of Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj district. They started in the early morning by a reserved bus, had a picnic day, visiting the city and museum, learning about some of Bangladeshi early history. They also had a very good lunch and returned in the evening.
- Winter cloth: PEP is planning to provide winter cloth for these street children this year from early December. We hope to raise funds or get winter clothing donated.
