In August, a ‘Back to School’ program was organized in a nearby slum and 35 children participated enthusiastically. The idea was to make the transition from summer vacation to the school year easier and smoother. It was an excellent program intended to start building engagement among the students. All the students who participated in the event were given files consisting of all the stationary essentials needed for a new academic year.
Education certainly determines the quality of an individual’s life. It improves one’s knowledge and skills and develops their personality and attitude. Most importantly, education enhances the chances of employment for people and completely transforms their lives. But the chances of receiving proper education for many children in our nation is very low. They live in slums and grow up in families who do not understand the value of education as the caregivers are uneducated themselves.
Don Bosco Trivandrum identifies such areas in the city and provides to those children what their caregivers cannot provide. The children in these areas who needs care and attention are sponsored by the organization in order to give them a better life.
