The Don Bosco veedu organisation has always supported children's education. We recently found 10 children who were having difficulty attending online classes owing to a shortage of smart phones, which have been the primary means of accessing online education platforms since the epidemic began. The children were discovered as part of one of our projects, MIRACLE, which aims to provide financial assistance for schooling to children who lack primary caregivers. Students were using their father's or mother's or a neighbor's phone for courses, and they were frequently unable to attend due to a lack of availability during class time.
With the support of GlobalGiving contributors and local sponsors, the Don Bosco Veedu Society was able to raise enough money to purchase ten smart phones for each of them, allowing them to attend every educational session without skipping a beat. Each smart phones cost around 8000 INR.
