Firstly, we would like to say a big thank you to those who have supported the Baan Feung Fah restoration project. This summer we have raised £5,855, which meant we came second in the Global Giving Gateway Challenge and received a £1,000 bonus! So we are very grateful to all who donated. You will be pleased to know that funds have been received in Thailand and the head of the Feung Fah daycare centre has been busy planning the refurbishment. Mostly the team are working on making the outdoor play area safe, secure and shaded so that the children can play outside once the rainy season is over. With the children spending the majority of their time in beds, having outdoor space is a real asset.
Ben Graystone, the volunteer who pioneered this refurbishment project, is currently in Thailand helping to bring our ideas together. Ben has worked with staff to put together a portfolio showing our vision for the daycare centre, which will enable Thai staff and volunteers to move forward with the work that needs to be done once he returns to England. Together with a team of volunteers, Ben has already helped repaint some of the existing outside furniture and help erect a new fence around the playground.
This project would not have been possible without the support of our donors. We look forward to bringing you more news and photos of the new and improved daycare centre.
