This quarter we brought free medical care to communities that, without us, would simply have no access to a doctor. With our two fully re-equipped mobile health units, each now featuring 2 consultation rooms, a digital ultrasound, a portable X-ray machine, a dental chair, telemedicine capability, and free medication delivery. We provided 4,574 medical consultations, 382 dental treatments, and 259 ultrasounds across 21 health campaigns in 220 rural communities of the Callejón de Huaylas. On February 11th and 12th, we officially reinaugurated our modernized mobile units thanks to the support of Children of Peru Foundation and Bonapharm, in close coordination with the Huaylas Sur and Norte Health Networks. Together, these units now have the capacity to deliver over 21,000 interventions per year. Every sol we invest in health saves families 3.2 soles they would otherwise need to spend to access equivalent care — money that, in these communities, simply does not exist. Looking ahead, next quarter we will host our first international medical campaign alongside the Department of Dermatology of Wake Forest University (North Carolina, USA), as well as a specialized ultrasound campaign with experts from Centro de Diagnósticos Quiroz. Your donation doesn't just pay for a consultation: it funds the only real opportunity for medical care that many of these families will have all year.
