The actions to improve public education in Piauí remain speeded up and bringing good results! In the past month of August, 50 managers gathered to a training meeting in order to master the goals, contents and targets of “Gestão Nota 10”, an educational program implemented in the state by Instituto Ayrton Senna in partnership with Piauí Department of Education.
Currently, Gestão Nota 10 covers 348 schools in 125 cities. In 2012 alone, 102.238 students from 1st to 9th grade of elementary school were benefited.
The team´s hard work was worthwhile: out of total students, 82% were approved in the early years and 77.1% were approved in the final years.
Luiza Solano, State Coordinator of Gestão Nota 10 Program, highlights that the ongoing follow-up provided by the program brings about consistent information and detailed reports that analyze results, suggesting schools quick interventions to the improvement of the educational services rendered. “Turning quantity information into quality information is part of the day-to-day life of every manager, when data become raw material of the management process”, she emphasizes.
In order to keep up with such thorough monitoring, every month managers feed an online system called SIASI-GP (Instituto Ayrton Senna System Information – Programs Management), an important process assessment tool which allows identify problems types and localization so that the team acts quickly.
By the present partnership, Piauí’s educational network intends to achieve universal enrollment, increase literacy rate among 7 year-old children, increase approval rate in all grades, decrease dropout rate, reduce the time to conclude the elementary school (combat school failure), save money from public coffers through efficiency of management and rationalization of public offices in the State Education Department.
