On January, The Aventureros hosted an Eco-Fair for the community in Bahía de los Ángeles!
Each Aventurero chose their own booth with the mission of communicating to the community some of the solutions they have come up with to reduce marine debris, as well as to create a space to have conversations with community members about the issue and solicit more ideas.
The projects featured things worth hoping or wondering about in the environment and helped balance out other messages of needing to address plastic pollution. For example, some students lead tables that represented things they want to study (ie. Agriculture or Marine biology) and do in the future--like sharks and plants.
We are thrilled to note that there were a total of six different food vendors that all had creative ways to sell their food without plastic (cloth wrappers, etc.)!
Plastic pollution and marine debris can’t be solved over night, but together, we are making progress and we are thrilled to be in a community that cares, has the courageous conversations and works together! In the comming months, The Aventueros plan to host more community events and continue their efforts towards a more sustainable future.
Checkout pictures from the Eco-Fair and recent beach cleanup. We hope you feel inspired to act in your own community!
