Atma in partnership with YES Foundation organised 2 communication workshops in Mumbai and Pune over the past month.
The workshops saw a collective participation of close to 200 participants: NGO leaders, students and others who learnt about the techniques of making zero-budget films for the purpose of capturing grassroot change stories.
Ad filmmaker and our trainer, Shrikant Kekare guided the participants with the nuances of using a phone to shoot a potential change story, while suppllying them with plenty of example videos and ads from which they absorbed the different techniques.
YES Foundation Director Prerna Langa encouraged the participants to register for the YES I am the Change media challenge where individuals across different fields can submit a change story to garner attention for a specific social cause. The workshops saw several participants registering for the YES I am the Change Challenge on filmmaking.
Atma was ecstatic to be a part of this partnership that allowed for capacity-building of many of Atma's NGO partners and other NGOs within its network. With tips and resources that were intriduced during the workshops, these NGOs were able to better their knowledge of the crucial use of media in creating social change.
