Project Summary: Kasur, Punjab, faces severe sanitary conditions, posing health risks and financial burdens on families. Our project aims to construct durable streets and proper drainage systems to enhance public health, safety, and community well-being.
Challenge: Inadequate drainage and poorly constructed streets in Kasur are breeding grounds for diseases, affecting health and economic stability. Families spend scarce resources on medical expenses, leaving little for nutrition and education, perpetuating poverty and illness.
Solution: We will build durable streets and efficient drainage systems, reducing health hazards. Community engagement and educational initiatives will ensure residents maintain improved sanitation, upgrading infrastructure and fostering behavioral change for a healthier environment.
Long-Term Impact:
Recent Developments: After submitting the project on GlobalGiving, Good Thinkers Organization met with Mr. Saad Waseem Sheikh, MNA of Kasur, to address sanitation issues near Al-Khair Hospital. Wastewater ponds are spreading diseases among local residents, especially children. Mr. Sheikh has promised to resolve the issue urgently after detailed meetings with our CEO. The GTO team is also meeting with concerned departments for an immediate solution.
This report highlights our commitment and collaborative efforts to improve Kasur's sanitary conditions for a healthier, more prosperous community.
