The Impact of the Floods
In May, Rio Grande do Sul (RS), Brazil, experienced the most devastating flood in its history, displacing over 500,000 people and affecting more than 2 million. The Children's Cancer Institute, located in Porto Alegre, RS, made efforts to ensure the safety of its patients and the continuity of their treatments. The Institute actively sought out patients who had been forced to leave their homes, providing transportation for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Additionally, we invested in distribution of clothing, food, medicine and water. During this time, we donated 7,787 pieces of clothing, 7,924 kilograms of food, distributed 336 medicines and 1,227 services were provided during the flood period.
We appreciate all the help received and we are counting on you to continue saving lives!
