Falling into Fall... Back to School!
As summer is winding down, we are gearing up! August 29th is the official first day of public school here in New York City . Since Arts for All provides many programs to public schools, we’re about to get very busy!
Some of our programs that will be back up and running are:
Literacy Through The Arts
LTA is designed to increase students' reading, writing and oral expression through a multi-art curriculum focusing on movement, music, and visual arts. This program runs at PS 15 in the Lower East Side for grades K-2.
Step Right Up
This is a 10 week program where students write, produce and perform an original piece of theater. Teaching Artists guide their students through all aspects of bringing a play to life thereby exposing the kids to writing, acting, directing, costume design, set design, music, choreography, prop styling, and stage management. This Fall, the program will be at The Green School, a public high school in Brooklyn ’s Bushwick neighborhood, offered to all grade levels.
Workshops in All Artistic Disciplines
We offer workshops in drama, dance, musical theatre, film, music, painting, drawing, mask and puppet making, and academic based projects. We will be working with multiple schools, community centers, shelters and hospitals this fall to offer a number of exciting artistic programs.
Audience Project
This fall we will offer our fourth tour of a professional children's production to schools all over the 5 boroughs. Stay tuned to Global Giving as we will soon have a separate fundraising page created for this tour and will announce the production! Last year, because of everyone's support through Global Giving, we were able to serve over 2,700 children with our fall tour.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to make so many programs possible for the Fall Semester!
