The purpose of this project report is help to bring our project reporting up to date. During the transition from Summer Arts Camp 2010 to Summer Arts Camp 2011 , I did not realize that although "retireing" Summer Arts Camp 2010 that we still needed to continue to provide updates for the project for as long as it was listed on GlobalGiving site. Consequently, you will see this and other project reports to bridge the two projects and to satisfy all of our reporting requirements.
2010 Summer Arts Camp -Update
The 2010 Summer Arts Camp was a great success, achieving its goals of enrichment and skill building for its young participants with a full expectation to continue this great program in the years to come. Economic reality, however, can scatter the best of intentions, and over the course of Fall 2010 and Spring 2011, it became clear that the Summer Arts Camp might become a casualty of the economy.
Fortunately, we were able to secure funding to continue the camp for 2011, although in a somewhat scaled down version due to the generosity of last minute donors.
We will be implementing a similar program this summer. Continue to follow our Summer Arts Camps and consider making a donation here: http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/summer-arts-camp-for-orphans-in-cambodia/.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
