Gift a Smile – Quarterly Impact Summary (Jan–Mar 2026)
Over the last quarter, the Gift a Smile initiative continued to transform the lives of children across India through holistic education, wellbeing programmes, and community development initiatives delivered through the International Association for Human Values and the Art of Living Free Schools network.
Education & Student Support
Our schools supported over 120,000 students across 1,356 schools in 2,745 villages, with a strong focus on inclusive education and emotional wellbeing. During the examination period, schools ensured that students received both academic guidance and emotional support to help them perform confidently.
To improve classroom participation and reduce barriers to education, essential supplies including school bags, uniforms, and books were distributed to students in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
Leadership & Values-Based Learning
Students actively participated in service-based learning activities inspired by the values of responsibility, sustainability, and collective care. On the birthday of Chairperson Smt. Bhanumathi Narasimhan, children across schools organised tree planting drives, cleanliness campaigns, and environmental awareness rallies, demonstrating leadership through action.
Student Achievements & Success Stories
Students from Assam participated in the India Reading Olympiad, earning recognition for storytelling and sketching. Another inspiring milestone came from Rudra, a student who performed at the prestigious Margazhi Maha Utsav classical dance festival in Chennai, reflecting how rural talent can flourish when nurtured through education and confidence-building opportunities.
Cultural & Community Celebrations
Schools celebrated a range of national and cultural events including Republic Day, National Youth Day, Saraswati Puja, International Women’s Day, Holi, and regional harvest festivals. These celebrations helped students strengthen cultural awareness, civic values, leadership, and social connection.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Hands-on learning remained a key focus during the quarter. Students participated in practical marketplace activities to understand financial literacy concepts such as pricing, profit, and transactions. On National Science Day, students presented innovative working models exploring renewable energy and scientific applications.
Yoga and wellbeing programmes also continued to play an important role in helping students manage stress, improve concentration, and build emotional resilience.
Looking Ahead
The programme continues to seek support through corporate partnerships, volunteers, fundraising ambassadors, and community engagement initiatives. With continued donor support, Gift a Smile aims to expand its impact and create brighter futures for children across underserved communities.
