The International Association for Human Values was created in Geneva in 1997 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as a global platform for humanitarian initiatives that solve problems by uplifting human values. There are several projects that aim to solve problems by uplifting human values.
Art of Living Free Schools is one of the first initiatives by the Founder. He recently visited the UK after 7 years and it was an honour for the project volunteers to meet Him personally. The vision for Art of Living Free Schools has now spread across 22 states in India, with 982+ schools in rural and remote areas providing free value- based, holistic education to over 80000+ students.
- Our schools in different states have adopted teaching different subjects with the help of an activity. Please find attached a couple of pages that include really nice examples.
- One of the unique offerings in these schools is that it not only offers the students with yoga and Sudarshan Kriya but also, to the teachers. This helps raise their energy levels and experience a clear calm positive state of mind.
- The Art of Living Sri Sri Rural Development Program Trust conducted on 31st October a water conservation campaign where the students were educated on importance of water and how to conserve it.
- The schools across India celebrated different festivals with great pomp and enthusiasm.
- Unite tests and first term examinations were covered in the school and students appeared diligently. The schools’ focus is on Educating the whole child means that we’re not just focused on them passing tests or getting smarter.
All the above is extremely valuable as a part of the holistic education. “Holistic education focuses on the fullest possible development of the person, encouraging
individuals to become the very best or finest that they can be and enabling them to experience all they can from life and reach their goals.” - Marshman
Thank you everyone for your continuous generous support. Please reach to us in case of any questions or concerns.
