The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) initiated this project on Global Giving to help teen girls dealing with the daily challenges of living with a bleeding disorder. We are so thankful and amazed that we have exceeded our 5,000 dollar goal in less than three weeks.
Thanks to the extreme generosity of our donors, we will be able to provide programming to 100 girls at a variety of chapter events across the country including teen retreats, family education weekends, camps, and mother/daughter events. Any additional funds raised by this Global Giving project page will be used to expand the number of participants at each art workshop and increase the number of hosting chapters to engage more young women across the country.
Recently, four NHF chapters have expressed interest in having an NYLI member deliver a workshop. In addition, training for NYLI members involved with the program has been scheduled for June 20, 2014 at the NHF national office in New York City.
Now that adequate funding has been secured, NHF is looking forward to officially announcing the project to its chapters at its next Regional Leadership Seminar training happening in late April in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The opportunity to participate will also be mentioned in NHF’s internal Chapter Update, a quarterly email communication.
