Great News from El Arca en Queretaro

Celebrating Mexico Independence Day in community
Celebrating Mexico Independence Day in community

Dear friends and supporters of El Arca Querétaro,

As we approach the end of the year, we are deeply grateful for your support and trust. We are delighted to share some of the achievements that have brought our Day Program to life over the past few months.

In the painting workshop, our artists have been working on large-scale paintings and honing their drawing skills. Together with Cynthia, our art workshop assistant, they have created works that reflect their talent and dedication.

In woodworking, thanks to Jesús’s guidance, participants Noé and Juan José have recently learned to operate tools like the drill independently. The team also takes responsibility for maintaining the workshop, the home, and the green spaces surrounding both. Recently, they harvested all the avocados and pruned the tree, while the bakery team prepared delicious guacamole that we all enjoyed!

Meanwhile, the bakery team, with Nayeli’s support, has been receiving ongoing training in hygiene and food safety. Every day, they put what they have learned into practice to produce high-quality baked goods.

Our Self-Advocates Group was invited to teach classes at a local high school. Andrea shared her painting and drawing skills, Alejandro taught jewelry-making, and Ricardo led physical education classes. It was a truly rewarding experience that allowed them to share their talents and enjoy meaningful interactions with the students.

But at El Arca, life is about much more than work! In September, we celebrated our traditional Mexican Independence Day, and we continue to celebrate birthdays every month. We have also enjoyed outings to cafés, parks, museums, and Querétaro’s historic city center. Each outing gives us the opportunity to discover new places, spend time with others, and make our own decisions. Now, we are eagerly looking forward to our next visit to the annual Querétaro Fair, one of the most anticipated activities of the year!

We are deeply grateful for everything we continue to build together, and we wish you a wonderful end to the year, filled with accomplishments and blessings of your own.

A special thank-you goes to our monthly and recurring donors. Your continued support allows us to keep growing and moving forward with our mission.

With love and gratitude,

The El Arca en Querétaro Community
