The last three spring months our art-therapy in the children department of National Institute of Cancer improved with new interesting ideas and workshops. We found some wonderful new volunteers: a girl who works in a studio and is a very talented person that has good hand at many things. She eagerly responded to our project and held a few interesting lessons for children on scrap booking. Children were excited to cut figuratively colorful paper with the special machine for scrap booking and to make beautiful postcards and so on.
On May 11 we made the purchase and transfer of bright materials for decoupage art-therapy: napkins, cards and glue for decoupage. We want to say thanks to our donors who made it possible!
Keeping with our art-therapy topic, we are going to paint walls in the primary inspection room in the department in June. This is the room that each child passes through while coming for the first time to the hospital or for a second chemotherapy. Painting walls in the childrens hospital is the project that actually our organization holds annually to the International Children’s Defense Day. The last two years we were painting walls in the children national hospital Okmatdet. This year we decided to do it in the childrens department of National Institute of Cancer. Our volunteer artists will put nice children's drawings on walls to elevate mood of the children and their parents. The project will go in June 10-20 and will be also dedicated to the Children’s Defense Day.
As we also try to help the department with medical equipment we kept holding charity bazaars. We held 3 charity bazaars in May in order to raise money to buy blood mixer for the department. It is not that easy, but we are already very close to our goal and we hope to present blood mixer to the Institute of Cancer in the beginning of June, celebrating International Childrens Defense Day.
We want again to say thanks to all our donors for their great support to our project!
