Project Report | Jul 1, 2019
its Achievement and Progression of Arn Chorn-Pond Living Arts Scholarship Program

By Phacdey Phary | Development Coordinator

Dear friends,

Thank you so much for supporting our Arn Chorn-Pond Living Arts Scholarship program!

Since 2005, over 83 students have graduated from the program and 106 students are currently actively participating in the program. The scholarships provide emerging artists and cultural practitioners with the support to pursue careers in the arts and cultural sector through enrichment training and financial support.

Sreypov, one of our former scholarship student who participated in our program in 2007 developed her own local business in Phnom Penh to offer chanting ceremony services.

Sreypov said that, “In 2007, this scholarship allowed me to pursue my Bachelor’s degree of International Relations at Paññãsãstra University of Cambodia, while studying the artistic skill of Smot. Now, I can contribute financially to support the scholarship program. I see that it motivates the next generation of arts students to be proud of their talents. And those students will keep transferring knowledge of arts to following generations.”

In September, we will welcome the 2019 scholarship recipients.

We have currently received over 45 applications to apply to join our program and we are half way through the selection process.

With your help, we can keep the Arn Chorn-Pond Living Arts Scholarship program and the aspiration of its students alive.

Thanks for your support and continue to make a big impact to our community through the arts.
