Dear Friends of Cambodian Living Arts,
Welcome to all of our supporters to Arn Chorn-Pond Living Arts Scholarship Program! We are excited to let you know what are happening with our Scholarship Program!
We took excitedly journey with our year-one scholarship students to participate our enrichment training which is one part of scholarship program to Jombok Hoas Adventure Learning Centre, located in Preah Vihear Province. Jambok Hoas, where learning centre gives opportunities to students to create experiences and believe in themselves through the set learning activities.
From our enrichment training with many activities included, we believe students can learn and show people that with a little belief in themselves and in what they are together with their friends and communities can do. Then they can really do anything and be anything that they want. Principles learned here can be actively applied in their lives for the betterment of themselves, their families and their communities.
Let's hear the points of views from our scholarship students:
"When I first entered the place, I felt scare because I have never been here. But after I joint all activities, it changed my feel. I became more courageous, struggling, better understanding each other and trust I can do it. Especially, when we worked in team, we supported each other. This is a key that I have self-trust in which I first felt anxious during flying and jumping activities. But later, I felt delighted. “Man Chantha
"Firstly, I feel very scare and I didn’t believe I could do all activities. But after I joint, I gain more positive thoughts and aware of my own strength and weakness. For example, when I climb to high position of 19 meter as Gibbon Swing and look at the ground, I see that it’s high and far from me while I haven’t started yet and I feel hopeless already. But when I see other tried, I decide to try too. Another example is amazing nail game. When we were told to put all 12 nails on a nail, I think that how can we make it and we will not be able to do it. However, when the facilitator did it, I feel surprised. Thus, it reminds me that sometimes if we create more positive thoughts, it will lead us to be successful and could achieve it. The most important thing is that having positivity. I feel very glad that I have chance to join and I would like to thank. “Ne Sovanneath
Regarding to students' reflection, we could see that these activities really can build students’ mentality to be stronger, courageous and I-can-do attitude. And we believe that students can take advantages from our enrichment training as a life-long learning experiences for their future and strengthen their mentality and courageousness in their life.
Again, thank you all for your support of our scholarship program over the years and continue to make a big impact to our young Cambodian Artists. In that time, together, we reach and offer over 100 scholarship opportunities to our students in dire need of various form of help. Help, that because of your support, we have been able to give. THANK YOU!
Best wishes,
Family of Cambodian Living Arts
