QUARTERLY ACTIVITY REPORT: APORTA PROGRAM (SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER 2023)

Introduction: The Community Foundation in Favor of Single Mothers and Unprotected Young People (FUNCOMAS) is pleased to present the quarterly report of its APORTA program, corresponding to the months of September, October and November 2023. APORTA, a popular contribution system and Collaborative has continued to play a fundamental role in obtaining in-kind donations from socially responsible citizens and companies, aimed at supporting less fortunate people with essential products.

Performed activities:

Delivery of Baskets for Pregnant Women in the Manrresa Altagracia Sector:

During the quarter, the APORTA program carried out a significant delivery of baskets for pregnant women in the emergency area of the Altagracia Maternity Hospital, in Santo Domingo. These baskets were made up of essential items for newborn care, providing tangible support to women in vulnerable situations. The initiative not only sought to cover basic needs, but also to provide emotional and community support to these future mothers.

Social Impact:

The delivery of baskets has had a direct impact on the quality of life of the pregnant women beneficiaries. Providing essential baby care items helps create a safer, healthier environment for mothers and their children. Additionally, the initiative strengthens community ties by demonstrating the power of collaboration and mutual support.

Citizen and Business Participation: During this quarter, we have observed an increase in the participation of citizens and companies in the APORTA program. Social awareness and corporate responsibility have led to a generous contribution of in-kind donations, evidencing the community's continued commitment to supporting those who need it most.

Despite achievements, we recognize the importance of addressing ongoing challenges, such as accurately identifying priority community needs.
