The billboard campaign is doing exactly what we wanted it to do - bringing folks to the Stop Slaughtering Us website to learn the real facts about horse slaughter.
The billboards companion website has been consistently averaging more 10,000 hits (see photo) per week with roughly 4100+ new visitors each week. This is a HUGE increase from the early days of the campaign, when we would get 30 hits a week.
Folks from states with boards up like Missouri, Oregon, Wyoming, Florida etc are googleing / binging "stop slaughtering us" and "stop horse slaughter" to find our site - it's the reason we made the url match the words on the billboard.
We also have been receiving many more emails that start with, "I had no idea horses were being slaughtered!" and "Who is eating our horses?!" and most recently, "We were told that horse slaughter was a humane way to harvest horses, obviously we have been lied too." We reply to each and every email - engaging the public and raising awareness will help to end the horror that is horse slaughter.
