Noelle has been fortunate to have very watchful doctors and therapists from a young age. At 12 months they referred her to the Regional center of Alameda County. Initially, everyone’s main concerns were her gross motor skills and feeding. Over time services for speech and cognition have been added. Without a specific diagnosis, it has been necessary for every teacher and therapist to “treat the child rather than the diagnosis”.
When it came time to move to Orange County six months ago, we were nervous as to what kind of services Noelle would be eligible for. When her case worker sent her to ICEC we were impressed with the program and personnel right away. Noelle has really thrived in both the group and individual programs at ICEC. We’ve seen more progress in the past six months than we had seen prior to the move. ICEC does not only a great job of “treating the child rather than the diagnosis”, but supporting the whole family as well.
