We are very excited because, little by little, activities and tranquility has been recovering at the Community Center in Tultitlán.
However, the pandemic has left us with valuable lessons, and one of the most important is to strengthen technology and computing, since during the pandemic the educational gap increased among the beneficiaries, since they did not have access to a computer or a smartphone, or they didn't know how to use them properly.
So we put into action, and we enabled and equipped a computer center for the children, adolescents, and adults. Elizabeth, a beneficiary who is the mother of 3 girls (2 of them of school-age), told us that:
“During the pandemic, we faced several challenges. One of them was that we only have one cell phone and no computer at home. So, when my daughters had classes at the same time, only one could attend and I had to notify the school which one will not. But now, we have the service of Amextra’s Computer Center, so both of my daughters can attend online classes at the same time.
Amextra also gave us regularization classes, either in person or online. Because of those classes, one of my daughters learned to read and mathematics. Everything that was not achieved in 4 years in the regular school, was done in the months in Amextra.
I like to go to Amextra´s Computer Center because it is close to my house and people help me when I don't understand something. I am grateful to have a place like this, it´s great for the children.”
Just like Elizabeth and her daughters, there are dozens of stories of self-improvement that have been possible thanks to you.
Thank you for being part of this transformation!
