Thanksgiving is still a full month away, but with so much going on in Tultitlán we can´t help but count our blessings a little early!
This past weekend we had the visit of 24 volunteers from the technology company Cisco who helped us paint the phychology area, playground equipment and classrooms, move dirt for the expanded vegetable garden, and trim the trees and bushes. While we were there, some of the kids told us what they like best about going to the Tultitlán Community Center.
"I like that they help us with our homework and the things we don´t understand, so we can do better at school" - Ximena, 10 years old.
"My favorite part is the dentist and nurse because they make me feel better" -- Valeria, 6 years old.
"For me it´s interesting to learn about the garden and the plants and how we can cook different foods. I also really liked the time we went to Cisco´s office because we learned about all the parts of a robot and how each element is necessary" - Frida, 15 years old.
For all of us at Amextra it´s a true honor to work with all these great kids, staff, donors, allies, and volunteers and to be a part of the holistic transformation happening in Tultitlán. We see this transformation in everyone involved- from local volunteers to those far away who remember Tultitlán and how their visit has impacted their lives.
From now to December we have a lot of work to do to close out the fall semester and make sure the kids finish strong. If you able to help these learners to keep growing during the fall months, click on the "Give Now" button below. We appreciate your support!
With gratitude,
Stephanie
