Portland Step Out to join forces with free EXPO

By Lauren Bryan | Associate Manager, Fundraising & Admin Support

2014 brings a number of changes to enhance your Step Out experience!
The walk day experience will be more fun, informative and helpful to those affected by pre-diabetes and diabetes.

NEW... Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes date and location
Saturday, November 22, 2014
Oregon Convention Center
Indoor and outdoor route options, fun, prizes and more!

WALK... then attend the American Diabetes Association's Annual EXPO
Step Out will take place just prior to our annual Diabetes EXPO at the Oregon Convention Center.  You can choose a dry indoor route through the walkways of EXPO or brave the Northwest elements by walking our outdoor EXPOsure loop.  Either way, you will end your walk in our FREE Diabetes EXPO and have the opportunitity to learn the latest on diabetes research and managment, visit with over 70 exhibitors, attend workshops, view cooking demos, try out new exercises, play in our youth zone, meet celebrities and walk through the American Diabetes Association Experience!

Step Out... is still a fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association
We think this new date, location and EXPO experience will make Step Out bigger and better, however the reason for walking remains the same; to fund the mission of the American Diabetes Association.  Once you register, you'll be given your very own web page and will have access to lots of tools to help you fundraise through your Step Out Center.  You'll be able to customize the page with your reason for walking, send emails to ask others to join you or donate, and even download Facebook and smart phone apps.  And of course, your Step Out Specialists (ADA Staff) will be here to help along the way!

Help us spread the word and invite others to join you for this new and unique walk experience.  Step Out participants are committed to walk and raise money not because 26 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because they walk among us in our lives and at the event.
