We are in unprecedented times. COVID-19 is changing the way we live our lives in order to remain safe and healthy. People living with diabetes are more at risk of developing serious complications if they contract coronavirus. At the American Diabetes Association, we are striving now more than ever to provide resources to the people we serve. We’ve developed a COVID-19 webpage to provide those living with diabetes everything they need to know about coronavirus and diabetes. (see link below)
As the CDC recommends, we are practicing social distancing to our fullest extent. The American Diabetes Association is doing everything we can to keep our partners safe; including moving many of our Tour de Cure’s around the country to virtual platforms. The benefit to this is that you now have the opportunity to participate in multiple Tours from your own home! We encourage you to visit the link below and get involved in upcoming virtual Tours via a stationary bike or your own individual ride through the neighborhood. This is also a great way to train for our local Tour!
Tour de Cure Oregon is still scheduled as planned for July 25, 2020 at AmberGlen Park in Hillsboro, OR. During these times, we must not forget why we ride; to improve the lives of those living with diabetes and to find a cure. We challenge everyone to continue to remain active in their fundraising and continue to prepare for Tour de Cure. We are remaining hopeful that on July 25th we’ll be able to come together and celebrate those living with diabetes as well as coming out on the other end of COVID-19.
