Funds raised through Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes supports local diabetes research, advocacy and education. Below are a few examples of local projects:

We currently fund three research projects in our area that total $1,196,753. Our funded researchers are:

Safe At School:
In 2010, we visited 114 schools and trained 807 school personnel at no cost to the schools or families. In 2011, we have visted over 60 schools to date.
Education:
Our Annual Practice Update is scheduled for September 30th. This is a continuing education program for health care professionals who have an interest in diabetes treatment and delivery of patient education.
Diabetes EXPO is scheduled for February 11, 2012 and planning is now underway. Each year thousands of attendees receive free services, screenings and health care information.
