Project Report | Jan 24, 2011
EDUCATE 200 WAR AND HIV/AIDS ORPHANED UGANDAN GIRL

By LILIAN KEENE MUGERWA | EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PLATFORM FOR LABOUR ACTION

SUMMARY

This report by Platform for Labour Action presents the progress on some the beneficiaries who have benefited from the support to their education through the Global Giving Foundation for the period October to December 2010. The project currently supports 46 children.  Seventeen (17) children were visited in school to assess their performance and progress and at home to assess their living conditions. During these visits they received counseling and guidance. We paid lunch fees for the 46 children amounting to $479 dollars over the past three months which enable the children to have lunch at school.

According to Susan Ejang Field Officer PLA’ The lunch money enables these children to have a meal they may not have had at home and they are able to pay attention in class.’

We also spent $170 dollars on counseling of the 17 children visited. The counseling sessions are carried our by the Field Officer and these encourage the children to speak out on their problems and joy.
