SUCCESS STORY FROM PLA BENEFICARY

My name is Farida 20 years old.

PLA started supporting me in 2010 when I was in primary four (p.4). I was in a very sorry state with my Siblings only since I lost my Parents when I was still 3 years old.

I came to know about PLA through my former Late Local council one of ObutuWelo Village. We went to her home for assistant for food and she took us with my siblings to PLA office.

We were given warm welcome at PLA office, however the lady we found in office told us that the organization can only support one of us only which is me Farida after the Late Etuu the Local council one chairperson explained our status to her.

I was taken back to school at Lira Primary School where I completed my Primary Seven and I joined Lira Town College up to senior three where PLA stopped paying my school fees.

In third term, I got a bursary for being amongst the best Girl Guide in scouting competition at Aturi camping side which has made me not to worry about PLA stopping to pay my Tuition.

I study on bursary till I completed senior four. When the result came back, I found that I passed but I was just willing to join Military since I had no one to pay my tuition either in a tertiary institution or ‘A’ level however Head teacher Lira Town college called me Back for my ‘A’ Level on Bursary scheme at the same time, Director Bright Light College also wanted me to go to his school as a trainer for his girl guide scout as well as I will be studying on Bursary.

I chose to go to Bright Light College and this is where I completed my senior six Last year 2019, however I was waiting for the UPDF recruit to join forces but COVID-19 came up and no any recruit was carried on since I had no option for education.

It was in March 24th 2020 when I came to look for food at the RDC Lira office since they were distributing food and I had nothing to eat at home, I found Samuel (PLA) staff also getting food for PLA beneficiaries and I was also put amongst the beneficiaries to benefit and we were given food.

On the same date, I found an advert at the regional security organization requesting applicant for the position of GISO (Gombolola Intelligent Security officer) and Operative to apply. On the same date, I applied for the position of GISO Lira Central Division and I submitted my application to the office of Regional Intelligent Security Organization.

I was very happy to receive a call from the same office calling me for an interview. During interview, we were sent to the field to I identify bars, Lodges, Hotels which are open which is against presidential directive and we bring the field report. I managed to carry out the activity and I submitted my report.

IT was a successful day to me again when I received a call at 4:30pa calling me that am a successful candidate and I must report to office in the following day to  begin working as a Giso Lira Central Division and this is how  I became a GISO  Lira Central Division

I would like to appreciate PLA so much for what they have done to me and for being good as my parents.

I feels like working for PLA any time and am ready to support PLA in any security matters since they are in my area of operation where am attached.

Thank you
