A Season Behind Us

By Danylo Kapral | Fundraiser

Dear friends,

With the arrival of spring, it finally feels like we can look back and say that another difficult winter is behind us. The first warm days have brought children back outside, parks and courtyards are full again, and our teams are once more able to organise more activities in the fresh air. After months of cold weather and uncertainty, these ordinary moments seem especially valuable.

The past winter demanded a great deal from many of the families we support. Rising living costs, the continuing effects of the war, and the everyday challenges of raising a child with a disability created enormous pressure on household budgets. For some families, even basic purchases became difficult to manage.

During these months, one of our priorities was to help cover those essential needs. Thanks to your generosity, Dzherelo distributed humanitarian support packages containing food, hygiene products, and other everyday necessities. We also continued preparing for possible emergencies by maintaining fuel reserves and ensuring that our backup equipment was always ready if needed.

Fortunately, despite many concerns at the beginning of the season, we were able to continue our work without major interruptions. Our services remained available, families kept receiving support, and children continued attending activities and rehabilitation programmes throughout the winter months.

Now the atmosphere at the Centre is changing together with the season. The gardens around our buildings are becoming green again, children spend more time outdoors, and our specialists are planning new activities for the months ahead. Spring always brings a sense of renewal, and after everything our community has experienced, that feeling is especially meaningful.

The challenges facing Ukraine have not disappeared, but this winter reminded us that resilience is built through small, everyday acts of solidarity. Every food package delivered, every activity held, every family that knew they could rely on us became part of that shared effort.

Thank you for helping us make it through another winter. Your support allowed Dzherelo to remain a place of stability and care when it was needed most. As we move into the warmer months, we do so with gratitude, optimism, and the confidence that together we can continue supporting the families who depend on us.
