Improve Livelihoods of 225 HIV-Affected Families

By Lucy Mathenge | Project Assistant

It has been couple of years since we started this project on improving livelihoods for HIV affected families.  Thank you very much for walking the long journey with us and our final beneficiaries. In many different ways we have put smiles in their faces and we have been there to uplift them when they are down and facing many challenges.  On behalf of the beneficiaries please accept our sincere appreciations and good wishes for this New Year.  The project is on-going and once again we request for your support to continue uplifting our beneficiaries and their families.  The year 2021 was conducive for farming activities and they remained busy throughout the year working on their farms and selling their farm produce.  They are now ready for the year 2022 with a lot of hopes that the year will be even more fruitful than last year.  Covid 19 cases are still bothering most of our beneficiaries but we are happy that they have all received covid 19 vaccines and majority have received 2 doses and the few remaining are just waiting for their dates.  Initially some of them were a bit reluctant and confused on whether to go for the jabs or not and some of them consulted us on the same and we encouraged them to voluntary go for the jabs.  At the moment we are in early planning stages for the year and we will definitely plan sessions with them as well as conducting monitoring and evaluation to understand the situation on the ground.  Soon they will be preparing their farms in readiness for planting during the rainy seasons.  We plan to support them with seeds and other planting materials to ensure they have enough for their respective farms. We pray and hope that all will be well in this year and our beneficiaries will continue with their usual activities as planned.  The journey is still long but once we go together as a team it will be easier and less tedious.  Once again we appreciate your continued support.
