Improve Livelihoods of 225 HIV-affected families

By Lucy Mathenge | Project Assistant

Our beneficiaries are progressing on well and we really appreciate all the support given by all well-wishers.  As earlier reported farmers were preparing their farms in readiness for planting during the long rains expected in March and April.  The country has received heavy rains since March where some parts have been negatively affected as a result of flooding and we are really sorry for that.  In highlands where our beneficiaries are, we have not had serious damages thus confirming that all our beneficiaries are safe and busy working in their farms which are really looking good with a lot of crops.  Some of them are ready for harvesting like vegetables and other short season legumes and our beneficiaries together with their families are enjoying balanced diet and we are happy for that. We have not been able to conduct food and nutrition training, due to some circumstances but we hope that we will be able to conduct it at some point.  We were successful in our fundraising towards supporting some families with chicken and dairy goats in Molo sub-county and we are happy to report that our Hiv beneficiaries received goats and others chickens.  Thank you for the support from our well-wishers.  The beneficiaries have reported that they were happy with the support given and they are working hard for sustainability and multiplication of the chickens and dairy goats for even more benefits.  We will continue fundraising to improve the living standards of many others and together with our well-wishers, strongly feel that this is achievable.  Thank you all for your kind support and we request you to continue supporting the less privileged in the society
