Help 500 vulnerable HIV+ patients stay on treatment. In Nigeria, extreme poverty forces vulnerable people living with HIV to make impossible choices between buying food, paying for bus fare, and picking up life-saving medication. This project provides comprehensive support, including transportation stipends, vital nutrition assistance, adherence counseling, and clinic accompaniment, ensuring 500 patients can stay on treatment, keep their viral loads suppressed, and live healthy lives.
When most people are diagnosed with HIV in Nigeria, their first thought isn't usually the fear of the virus, it is the fear of the cost. For the communities CPHI serves, financial hardship, transportation barriers, stigma, treatment adherence challenges, and limited access to essential medicines can interrupt care. Women and pregnant women living with HIV, adolescents and young people, and people experiencing advanced HIV disease face additional vulnerabilities.
CPHI provides access to HIV prevention, testing, treatment, PrEP, PEP, ARV refills, adherence counselling, sexual and reproductive health services, and psychosocial support. Funding will support transportation for ARV refills, intensive adherence counselling for virally unsuppressed clients, essential medicines for opportunistic infections among people with advanced HIV disease, antenatal and HIV support for pregnant women, and HIV prevention services for adolescents and young people.
When a patient stays connected to care, their viral load becomes undetectable, meaning they can live a full, healthy life and cannot transmit the virus to others. By supporting 500 vulnerable individuals, your gift does more than fund bus fares and meals, it strengthens families, protects communities, and helps drive down overall HIV transmission rates across Nigeria.
