The plantations in the Gorkha distict has been good and farmers are very happy to consume and sell excess Moringa in the local market. Its winter season in Nepal so currently all the leaves have fallen off but they will regrow later after January. The farmers in the nearby village have also shown interest to plant Moringa trees. The livelihood of those farmers is very poor and they lack proper shelter, education and nutrition. Since the farmers don't have proper irrigation facility they will have to wait till rainy season (around June) to carry out plantation activity.
Moringa can be grown through vegatative propagation (through cuttings). We are in the process of establishing an nursery by using the cuttings so they can be later distributed to other farmers. We also have been taking with local government to support our initiative financially and we are also looking forward to receive more donation through GlobalGiving.
