By Carolina Moraes | Project Leader
We continued creating safe and meaningful learning experiences that connect children with nature through environmental education and food sovereignty. During this reporting period, we worked with more than 40 children and their families through hands-on activities focused on healthy eating and school gardening. Together, we planted and cared for seedlings while exploring where food comes from, how food can be grown sustainably, and why healthy eating habits are important. By turning the garden into an outdoor classroom, we encouraged curiosity, teamwork, and a deeper connection with the natural world.
We believe that children’s learning becomes stronger when families are part of the process. The involvement of parents has been essential in reinforcing healthy habits at home, sharing knowledge, and strengthening the connection between the school, families, and the community. Through these shared experiences, we are helping children develop practical skills, confidence, and environmental awareness while encouraging families to participate actively in building healthier and more sustainable communities. Every seed we plant represents a step toward a safer, happier childhood and a brighter future for everyone involved.
