Dear Friends and Supporters,
Namaste and warm greetings from the BASS India team.
We extend our sincere gratitude for your kind and generous support of our project, "Give Daily Healthy Meals to the Aged in India." We are pleased to present our progress report for the period from May to August 2026. During these four months, we received $170 through GlobalGiving, and every single dollar has directly helped keep our food centers open.
Despite serious funding constraints, our commitment to caring for forgotten senior citizens remains steadfast. BASS India continues to operate three active meal centers—two in Guntur and one in Pallekona—serving a total of 120 elderly individuals who have no other source of care or family support. At each center, 30 to 35 seniors gather daily to receive nutritious hot lunches, evening meal boxes, and refreshing buttermilk. Even during the severe heat of the summer months, our team did not take a break, ensuring consistent food and hydration. For seniors who are bedridden or unable to walk, our dedicated staff delivers daily meal boxes straight to their homes. Beyond basic survival, these centers offer a loving space where elderly members can connect with peers, find safety, and regain their sense of dignity.
However, sustaining these vital services presents a critical financial challenge. Operating a single meal center costs approximately $400 per month, bringing our total monthly requirement for all three centers to $1,200. While we are deeply grateful for the $170 raised during this period, it covers only a small fraction of the actual expenses required to prepare and distribute daily meals. Because these centers depend entirely on individual donations, your support is truly the sole lifeline keeping these operations running.
BASS India is determined to keep our doors open so that no senior in our community faces hunger or abandonment. As we look ahead, we humbly invite you to consider making a one-time contribution or setting up a recurring monthly donation. A recurring gift provides the stability needed to ensure that our elderly grandfathers and grandmothers receive uninterrupted meals and compassionate care every day. Thank you for your unwavering kindness and for standing as a source of hope for India's vulnerable seniors.
With sincere gratitude,
BASS India Team
