A Path Toward Dignity and Care for the Elderly

By Mahimai Raja A S | Project Leader

In many parts of India, elderly individuals—especially those who are poor, abandoned, or without family—face isolation, hunger, and neglect. At Dalit Solidarity, we believe every person deserves to live their final years with dignity, respect, and love. Our elderly care program offers more than just food; it restores a sense of community and belonging.

Compassionate Support for a Forgotten Generation:

Our initiatives reach out to vulnerable senior citizens in underserved villages of Tamil Nadu, providing both immediate assistance and long-term care through:

Daily Community Meals: Every day, over 70 elderly men and women gather at our Agape Home and other local centers to enjoy nutritious meals and social interaction in a warm, welcoming environment.

Food Rations for the Week: In addition to daily meals, we provide essential food packets to help other elderly individuals meet their nutritional needs during the week.

Medical Assistance and Follow-Up: We collaborate with local physicians to ensure routine checkups, timely treatment, and access to medications for chronic conditions.

Emotional and Spiritual Upliftment: Regular visits from volunteers, students, and faith leaders offer companionship, prayer, and moral support—reminding our elders they are not forgotten.

Impact at a Glance

  • Over 70 elderly individuals served with daily meals and ration kits
  • Improved health outcomes through consistent medical checkups and medication support
  • Stronger sense of community and emotional well-being among participants
  • Visits from community leaders, including Bishop Jude Paul, bring comfort and joy

Looking Ahead

Our vision is to expand care to 150 elderly individuals by 2026. With your support, we aim to enhance home-delivery services for the bedridden, provide mobility aids, and ensure every elder feels valued and cherished. Together, we can offer our elders not just food—but the dignity and care they so deeply deserve.
