We have just completed our 2023 Summer Session I with an enrollment of 41 students. Instead of an 8-week program, this year we broke up the summer into two 4-week programs. The sessions are still Monday – Friday from 7 am – 6 pm. So far, we are happy with the results. The change allows us to accept more students. It also helps combat the drop-off in attendance that we begin to see in the longer program. We included a one-week break between sessions to help combat burnout and fatigue for our staff.
During our first parent meeting of the summer, we asked for feedback in the form of a three-question survey. We asked the parents:
Some of the words that we saw with the most frequency were culture, community, relationships, and fun. We will use the feedback from parents as we continue to evaluate the program and make plans for the future.
