Dear Benevity Supporters,
This year marked a significant step forward for our organization. We expanded our work across Brazil, participating in major cultural events in São Paulo, Ceará, and Paraná (Ponta Grossa) during Municipal Capoeira Week, where we received a Motion of Applause. We were also honored with the Carolina Maria de Jesus Honor by the office of State Deputy Renata Souza, recognizing our impact in favelas and underserved communities.
With your support, we directly reached 900 to 1,100 individuals over the past 5 months, including children, youth, and adults engaged in free cultural programming.
We continued offering weekly capoeira classes, Afro-Brazilian dance workshops, cultural circles, and educational sessions focused on identity and ancestry. We also hosted the 12th National Meeting of Popular Culture and expanded exchanges with groups across Brazil.
Additionally, we advanced projects preserving cultural memory through storytelling, community exhibitions, and documentation of local cultural leaders.
Your support has strengthened cultural identity, expanded access to education, and created safe, empowering spaces for our community.
Thank you for making this work possible.
With appreciation,
Anny Moreira
