We are excited to share that the Kanyelele Secondary School Girls’ Dormitory Compound is rapidly taking shape! We are deeply grateful for your continued support in bringing this vision to life.
The Kanyelele Project began in January with a 150-meter-deep well. Teachers and students have shared that the well has already transformed daily life—what was once a 30-minute walk to collect water is now just steps away.
Since then, construction has progressed beautifully. The Africa Schoolhouse team has completed the foundations and walls for the girls’ dormitory, bathing facilities, and matron’s house, and roofing is now underway. The foundation for the dining hall and kitchen is also in progress. We feel incredibly thankful for our dedicated team, whose hard work is creating safe and inspiring spaces that will have a lasting impact on these girls’ lives.
Kanyelele Secondary School was identified by the Misungwi District as having both the greatest need for a girls’ dormitory and an exceptional level of commitment from its teachers and students. Currently, many girls walk 2–4 hours each day to attend school. They have shared how excited they are to move into the new dormitory, which will provide safety, stability, and the opportunity to focus more fully on their education.
Please know how deeply grateful we are for your partnership. Your generosity is making a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of so many students.
