Support for Afghan Refugees in Pakistan
Dear Esteemed Donors,
For decades, Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees who fled their homeland due to conflict, instability, and economic hardship. Many of these families continue to live in uncertain circumstances, waiting for resettlement opportunities through UNHCR or struggling to rebuild their lives in host communities. Amid these challenges, the Customs Health Care Society (CHCS) has remained committed to supporting them with education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid.
Education & Skill Development
Recognizing that education is a pathway to dignity and opportunity, CHCS established the Customs Health Care English Language & Art Academy for Afghan refugees. As of 2025:
45 students (men, women, and children) are actively enrolled in English language classes, guided by four dedicated teachers. These lessons not only improve communication skills but also prepare students for resettlement and integration abroad.
The Art Academy continues to nurture 20 students in creative expression. Through painting, drawing, and crafts, these students find therapeutic relief and a sense of identity, while also developing talents that can support livelihoods in the future.
Healthcare & Humanitarian Relief
In parallel with education, CHCS organizes regular medical camps for Afghan refugees, offering free check-ups, medicines, and health awareness sessions. We place special emphasis on maternal and child health, recognizing the vulnerabilities of women and children in refugee populations.
Additionally, CHCS conducts food and relief distributions—providing nutritious meals, warm clothing, and daily essentials to help families meet their basic needs. These efforts bring comfort and stability to communities living with uncertainty.
Why This Matters
Your generous contributions make this sustained support possible. For Afghan refugees, each book, each medical check-up, and each meal is more than aid—it is a message of compassion, dignity, and hope for a brighter future.
Together, we can continue to stand beside Afghan refugees in Pakistan, helping them prepare for new opportunities, while ensuring their immediate needs for health and nourishment are not forgotten.
Warm regards,
Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah
